About me...

About me...

June 22 2020

20 years ago, my mother Michele started a small business that had a strong focus on Australian Made products and makers. She travelled to markets and fairs with the Volvo packed full of beautiful things. When I was able to help, it was a pleasure to unpack the car and display all of those treasures for people to see. This was the start of it all...

Since then I have Married my Husband Jim and become a mother of 5 beautiful children, Stirling, Primrose, Queenie, Darcy (Freddy) and Clementine.

We live in Holbrook in Southern NSW and that is where I founded the business that has become "The Holding Yard".

The Holding Yard aims to promote regional makers and bring stylish and affordable pieces to the Country Woman. It has become a must stop destination for travellers between Melbourne and Sydney and is the perfect distance from both Wagga and Albury for a day trip, with lunch at our many cafes being part of the experience.

We have the beautiful Satch And Co Art Gallery filled with art and interesting gifts, and the new Hello Maude Jewellery store opening just next door.

A visit to the life size submarine or the Holbrook Bakery is a must and there are a number museums and gardens to explore... There is plenty to see and do in Holbrook.

Since opening the doors as a pop up shop in the popular Ten Mile Cafe, we have grown and expended into the beautiful old Butchers Shop just a few doors down.

It is a unique space that allows for some wonderfully creative things to happen within its walls. A fantastic floral display by Little Triffids Flowers hangs from the butchers rail and greets you as you enter through the doors. Also, wall mounted behind the front counter hang 3 large olive harvesting tubs that change weekly with their floral display. Its a true feast for the eyes..

Thank you for following this journey, we look forward to welcoming you both on line and in store soon.
